Help

Port your number to KlevaDesk.

Bring your existing business number to KlevaDesk so it rings straight into your AI line — no forwarding required. Porting is opt-in, and we handle the carrier paperwork with you.

Before you port

You probably want forwarding first.

Forwarding keeps your current carrier and is reversible in seconds — ideal for trying KlevaDesk without commitment. Porting moves the number to KlevaDesk for good, so it’s the right move once you know you’re staying. Not sure? Forward now, port later.

What you’ll need

Have these on hand before you start.

Carriers verify a port against the account it’s leaving. Gathering these up front is the single best way to avoid a rejected request.

  • Your account number

From your current carrier — printed on your bill or in your online account. This is not your phone number.

  • Your transfer PIN or account passcode

Most carriers now require a one-time port-out PIN you generate in their app or by text. Some still use a fixed account passcode.

  • The billing name and address on file

They must match your carrier’s records exactly — a mismatch is the most common reason a port is rejected.

  • A recent bill

Handy as a reference for the exact account number and the name and address spelling your carrier has on record.

How it works

Five steps, and we do the filing.

  1. Start with forwarding first

You don’t have to port to use KlevaDesk. Forwarding your existing line is faster, reversible, and lets you keep your current carrier. Most people forward first, run a trial, and only port once they’re sure.

  2. Tell us you want to port

Porting is opt-in and we handle it with you. Email support@klevadesk.com from the address on your account and let us know which number you want to bring over. We’ll confirm it’s eligible and walk you through the details we need.

  3. Send the transfer details

Share the account number, transfer PIN, and the billing name and address from the checklist above. We submit the port request to the carriers on your behalf — you don’t file anything yourself.

  4. Keep your old service active

Do not cancel your current plan. A port pulls the number from a live account; if you cancel first, the number is released and the transfer fails. Your old carrier closes the line automatically once the port completes.

  5. Your number goes live on KlevaDesk

Once the carriers complete the transfer, your number rings straight into your AI line — no forwarding needed. We’ll confirm when it’s done so you can stop any forwarding you set up earlier.

Don’t cancel your current carrier. A number can only be ported while its account is active. Your old line closes on its own once the transfer finishes.

Good to know

Common questions.

How long does it take?

A single wireless number usually transfers within a few business days, but the carriers set the pace — occasionally it’s same-day, occasionally longer if details need correcting. We keep you posted while it’s in flight.

Will I lose service during the port?

No. Your number keeps working on your current carrier right up until the moment it switches over to KlevaDesk. There’s no dead window where calls are lost.

Can I port a landline or VoIP number?

Often, yes — landline and VoIP numbers can usually be ported, though they sometimes take longer than wireless. Send us the number and we’ll confirm whether it’s portable before you commit.

What if I change my mind?

Until the port completes, nothing has moved — just let us know and we’ll hold off. Once a number has ported to KlevaDesk you can port it back out to another carrier later; the number is always yours.
